Specialty pharmacy.
Everything between the prescription and the dose
A specialty prescription is not finished when it is written. Somebody has to find out what the plan covers, clear the authorization, source the product, verify the order, prepare it, and get it to the patient on the right day — and then do the continuity work that keeps it going. That is our job.
What we handle.
Eight parts of one service
Sourcing and acquisition
Specialty and infusion medications are not ordinary stock. We handle acquisition through the channels these products require, including the limited-distribution arrangements some of them carry, so the prescribing office does not have to work out where a drug comes from.
Benefits investigation
Before anything else happens, we find out what the patient's plan actually covers: medical benefit or pharmacy benefit, what the cost share looks like, whether a site-of-care requirement applies, and what the plan will want to see. The answer goes back to the prescribing office in plain terms.
Prior authorization
We assemble the submission, send it, follow it, and chase the decision. Where a plan declines, we support the appeal. The office hears where things stand from us rather than finding out when the patient calls to ask why nothing has arrived.
Clinical pharmacist verification
Every order is verified by a clinical pharmacist and double-checked by a second before it is prepared. That is the same review our New York pharmacy operations run — it does not get lighter because the order came from Texas.
Preparation and packaging
Medication is prepared and packaged to maintain sterility and the cold chain where the product requires one, with the documentation that goes with it.
Coordinated delivery
Delivered across the Houston metro by our own driver, to the practice treating the patient and timed to the appointment — not handed to a carrier on whatever day the box happened to be ready.
Refills and continuity
Refills are scheduled ahead of the date they are needed and authorizations are renewed before they lapse. Staying on therapy is the part that most often fails, so it is the part we manage most actively.
One point of contact
The same team handles an account throughout. A prescriber's office is not explaining the case again to whoever picks up, and a patient is not repeating their history on every call.
What we are not.
A pharmacy, not an infusion suite
We are a dispensing pharmacy, not an infusion suite. We source the medication, verify it, prepare it and deliver it — your treatment is given at your prescribing practice.
We say that plainly because the alternative is a patient driving to Sugar Grove Boulevard expecting a chair and a nurse. Treatment happens in your office: we get the medication there, cleared and on time, so the appointment your practice already has on the calendar goes ahead.
Not sure how a particular therapy would work? Call (346) 350-2000. Whether a therapy fits this model, and what the patient’s plan will require, is a two-minute conversation — and it is better had before the prescription moves.
Therapies.
What the program covers
Our specialty pharmacy program covers a wide range of infusion therapies. Each has a page of its own describing what we handle for it.
Do not see a therapy listed? Call us — the list above is the shape of the program, not its limit.
